Leasburg Dam State Park offers several hiking trails and opportunities for fishing, kayaking and bird watching. Park elevation is 3,962. Hike the Dripping Springs Natural Area. Visit historic Mesilla where Billy the Kid roamed, the San Albino Church and the Basilica of San Albino. Tour the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum and the Museum of Nature & Science. Look for the murals on the water tanks. See a movie at the Fountain Theater, shop at the Farmers & Crafts Market of Las Cruces on Saturdays. See the Petrified Wood collection at the Zuhl Museum. Take a hike in the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument.
