The Cheyenne Frontier days will be going on at this time and there will be a Rodeo going on everyday from July 23rd to 31st. Tickets are on sale now and can be ordered through Cheyenne Frontier Days Tickets on line. There is a carnival every day, live music every night, entertainment, chuckwagon cookout, Grand Parade, Indian Village, USAF Thunderbirds on July 27th just to a few of the activities going on. We are not far from Laramie which is a charming historical western town with a university, lots of hiking and biking and Medicine Bow National Forest. Tour the nightlife with lots of wineries and craft breweries along with both western dancing and swing dancing. With so much to do at these 2 places, it will be hard to make choices.
Vedauwoo Designated Dispersed Campsites, Medicine Bow National Forest, Laramie, WY. There are 73 first come, first serve free spots located in this area and must park within 50 feet of a marked spot. There are tables, grill trails and hiking. Host must arrive at least a day in advance to make sure we can get our group in there.
From Cheyenne, head west on I-80 approximately 30 miles to the Vedauwoo exit (exit 339). After exiting, turn right onto Forest Road 700. Travel East on the 700 road for approximately 2 miles. This will lead you to the designated dispersed sites.
