Walk to the end of Homer Spit for dozens of local businesses and restaurants that cater to visitors. Go fishing, tour the many museums and art galleries; take a ferry ride to Halibut Cove for dinner and a visit to a community with no roads. Take a ferry ride to Kodiak Island to visit Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park, the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center; eat lunch at the Kodiak Island Brewing Company; and visit the Kodiak Laboratory Aquarium and Touch Tank. Fly to Katmai National Park out of Homer to watch grizzlies at Brooks Falls, $400/person.
