Activity Ideas

Visit old Town Eureka with their historic places mainly from the Victorian era. Check out the Carson Mansion. Drive the Redwood Highway from the Oregon coast along the California Coast. Numerous parks and places to stop along the way. Picnic at Sequoia Park Forest and Garden. Visit Fort Humbolt State Historic Park with lots of bird watching, and the Blue Ox Millworks Historic Park. Hike at headwaters forest reserve and bike Arcata Community Forest. So much more to see and do in this charming area.

Parking Location

Moose 4328 Campton Rd. Eureka, members only, dump. 707-443-1073. $20 nite for electric and water, $5 a nite dry camping. Call Dan 707-599-2351 about a month in advance to let him know approximate numbers and how many need hook ups. They have about 20 hookups but some are being used. Can also call the lodge at 707-443-1073. Dump on site.

Directions and Other Information

A second choice for parking is the Elks at 445 Herrick Ave. Elks only, no guests, 24 full hook up sites $30 nite, no dry camping, first come. 707-442-6652
