WIN NARKSMO CIRCUIT 2023

This circuit will concentrate on Kayaking along with other water sports, drives, hikes and beautiful scenery. It will travel through northern Arkansas and southern Missouri. Janet Henry and Jean Fox will be the circuit Leaders. Please contact them if you are interested in joining. Due to limited parking, this circuit will be limited to about 15 to 20 people. If there is enough interest, a second circuit can follow 1 week behind. There are many stops that require reservations. Please talk to Janet or Jean prior to making them.


SILVER HILL, AR

Activity Ideas

Kayak Buffalo River, eat at Gilbert (population 33), hike, bike and fish.

Parking Location

Tyler Bend Campground NP. Water flush toilets, showers and dump. Visitor Center – 870-439-2502. Sites 14-28 are FF, reservations are needed for the rest. Dump, water, showers.

Directions and Other Information

From Harrison, AR go south on Hwy. 65 about 32 miles, cross the Buffalo River and turn right to visitors center and campground. Boondock in drive in sites only $10 with senior pass. Need Reservations, www.recreation.gov 1-877-444-6777. Water and dump in campground.

Buffalo Point NP Campground. NOTE: Travel day to the next stop is on Memorial Day.

Head SW on US 65 S toward Half Moon Trail, left on AR-27, R onto Hwy 268 E, R onto Buffalo Point Trail. 30 first come/first served sites and remaining sites can be reserved by calling 877-444-6777 or online at recreation.gov. $15 with senior pass. No dry camping-all sites all are W/E. Water, Dump and showers in campground.

MT. VIEW, AR

Travel 6 miles north of Mt. View on Hwy. 9/14 to Allison, then west on Hwy. 14 about .1 mile to campground. Travel Day is Memorial Day. make reservations by calling 877-475-4223 or email scc@mv.tel.net . W/E sites $30 – $180 per week, full h/u $35 – $210 per week, dry camp $20 – $120 per week. Cable TV $3 a night – $30 per week. 50 amp $5 more per night.

3 miles northeast of Norfolk, AK on Highway 5, then 2 miles east on Highway 177. Norfolk Lake is located on the North Fork River in the Ozark Highlands of North Central Arkansas. Weekends have a 2 day minimum.

Directions and Other Information

From Poplar Bluff, MO go west about 43 miles to Van Buren (Van Buren is 29 miles east of Winona). Go south 4 miles on Hwy. 103 to Big Spring campground. There are 26 first come/first served dry sites. Sites with W/E can be reserved at 877-444-6777 or online at recreation.gov. Dry $10 with senior pass, E $15 with senior pass. Water, dump and showers in campground.
