Circuit: Western Winter Circuit 2020/21
ANNUAL WIN THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION. Scenic drive to Julian to eat apple pie, enjoy 4-wheeling, biking, hiking, slot canyons, and visiting Borrego amazing metal sculptures. This year we may not be able to do a big pot luck due to Covid restrictions. We are still waiting to hear. Last year we modified the Thanksgiving celebration with a few people buying cooked turkeys and donating them as their pot luck dish to share. This idea worked out very well and we had plenty of food to share. Today with Covid and limited sizes of gatherings, we may have to improvise. Last year we were also able to use the American Legion for dinner, heating up all the food and clean up. At this point the American Legion in Anza Borrego is closed indefinitely, but their Campground is open at a $5 a night charge for dry camping. They have a dump station, water and showers. They have also said that we can use their kitchen which would be the best news. They just don’t know if the bar will be open but we can bring our own and give them a donation. Some may decide to stay there a couple of days over thanksgiving instead of driving back and forth.
